Age is an important factor in tobacco use and quitting, but researchers do not always group or report adult ages in the same way. This can make results from different studies difficult to compare.
The authors developed recommendations to make age reporting in tobacco research more consistent. The aim is to improve comparison between studies and help researchers better understand differences between age groups.
