This systematic review examined health and social outcomes linked with vaping in children and young people aged up to 19 years. Researchers screened more than 14,000 articles and included 81 studies.
Evidence of harm was reported across eight areas, including respiratory health, mental health, starting cigarette smoking, oral and dental health, allergies, sleep, eye symptoms and outcomes in babies exposed during pregnancy. The most consistent associations included cough, wheezing, bronchitic symptoms, anxiety, depression and panic disorder.
