In Africa, the increasing prevalence of illicit trade in electronic cigarettes and new nicotine products highlights a regulatory gap. Existing tobacco control policies, primarily guided by the WHO-FCTC, are not tailored to address these emerging products effectively.
Developing separate nicotine policies could help regulate these products more effectively, reduce illegal trade, and protect public health.
