Malawi has recently become a full member of the World Health Organization's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC). This development signifies Malawi's commitment to implementing comprehensive tobacco control policies in line with international standards.
The ratification process was completed in August 2023, and the treaty officially took effect in Malawi on November 16, 2023, marking a significant step forward in the country's public health efforts to reduce tobacco-related harm.
