Evaluating and improving the quality of survey data from panel and crowd-sourced samples: A practical guide for psychological research

The use of crowd-sourced and panel survey data in addiction research has become widespread. However, the validity of data obtained from newer panels such as Qualtrics has not been extensively evaluated. Furthermore, few addiction researchers appear to employ previously recommended guidelines for maximizing the quality of data obtained from panel samples.

A highly stable copper nano cluster on nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots for the simultaneous electrochemical sensing of dopamine, serotonin, and nicotine: a possible addiction scrutinizing strategy

The synthesized NC, CuNC@N-GQDs, successfully sensed dopamine (DA), serotonin (SER), and nicotine (NIC) simultaneously with well-defined peaks and good peak-to-peak separation, whereas none of the controls including CuNCs and N-GQDs exhibited the simultaneous sensing properties.

Laboratory Determination of Gravimetric Correction Factors for Real-time Area Measurements of Electronic Cigarette Aerosols

Research on secondhand electronic cigarette (ECIG) aerosol exposure using aerosol monitors has demonstrated that ECIG use can generate high concentrations of particulate matter (PM) and impact indoor air quality. However, quantifying indoor air PM concentrations using real-time optical monitors with on-site calibration specifically for different PM exposures has not been established.

A Model of Combined Exposure to Nicotine and Tetrahydrocannabinol via Electronic Cigarettes in Pregnant Rats

Nicotine and cannabis are two of the most commonly consumed licit and illicit drugs during pregnancy, often consumed together via e-cigarettes. Vaping is assumed to be a safer alternative than traditional routes of consumption, yet the potential consequences of prenatal e-cigarette exposure are largely unknown, particularly when these two drugs are co-consumed.

Effects of e-liquid flavor, nicotine content, and puff duration on metal emissions from electronic cigarettes

Vaping is the action of inhaling and exhaling aerosols from electronic cigarettes. The aerosols contain various amounts of toxic chemicals, including metals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate factors that can influence metal levels, including flavor and nicotine content in the e-liquid, and puff duration.
