The use of crowd-sourced and panel survey data in addiction research has become widespread. However, the validity of data obtained from newer panels such as Qualtrics has not been extensively evaluated. Furthermore, few addiction researchers appear to employ previously recommended guidelines for maximizing the quality of data obtained from panel samples.
E-cigarette use is associated with cannabis initiation among youth. This association is stronger among those living in states that legalized adult recreational cannabis use. Further examination of the impact of e-cigarette use on cannabis initiation in relation to state cannabis laws is warranted.

Complete home smoking bans are associated with higher odds of smoking cessation attempts and cessation duration. Sexual minority adults have disproportionality higher rates of smoking. This study investigates correlates of having a complete home smoking ban among sexual minority adults in California.
Nicotine and cannabis are two of the most commonly consumed licit and illicit drugs during pregnancy, often consumed together via e-cigarettes. Vaping is assumed to be a safer alternative than traditional routes of consumption, yet the potential consequences of prenatal e-cigarette exposure are largely unknown, particularly when these two drugs are co-consumed.
Vaping is the action of inhaling and exhaling aerosols from electronic cigarettes. The aerosols contain various amounts of toxic chemicals, including metals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate factors that can influence metal levels, including flavor and nicotine content in the e-liquid, and puff duration.
